In his book ''The Heavenly Sword and the Dragon Saber'', Zhang Sanfeng was a former Shaolin disciple in the late Song Dynasty, and born on April 26, 1246 (Day 9 of month 4 in Chinese calendar).
He left Shaolin Temple to establish the Taoist monasteries in Wudangshan.
Some sources record two Chinese emperors sending missions to Zhang Sanfeng to ask for his advice, although neither mission is reported to have found him.

On the way to Wuidangshan there was middle aged chinese man from the town next to Wudangshan seatting nexct to me. It was the first time for him to talk to a foreigner and was really happy that I could speak chinese a so we were able to communicate.
You might wonde why so fast, because I kind of planned to stay some days at Wudangshan.
After getting on the bus, which was not about top leave for about an hour, I hav a lot of conversation with all the Chinese in there who were absolutely fascinated by a foreigner who could speek Chinese and was able to understand (most of) what they said.

On the slopes of the sacred mountain, Wudangshan is the largest existing Taoist temple complex in the world with some of the architecture stretching back to the 7th century.

In May of 1986 LaoMa made his first pilgrimage to Wudangshan in western Hubei Province, the sacred Daoist Mountains of Taijiquan's origin.
He has returned to China often, studying with many teachers and visiting sacred sites.

All I could find so far is something called 'SANDA' which is basically freefighting like kickboxing, no groundfighting.
