Theosophy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Theosophists trace the origin of Theosophy to the universal striving for divinity that existed in all ancient cultures.
Theosophists hold that everything, living or not, is "impregnated" with Consciousness.
Like esoteric Buddhism, from which much of Theosophical thought springs, Theosophy teaches that beings have attained the human state through myriad reincarnations, passing through the mineral, plant and animal stages since the birth of life on earth.

H.P.Blavatsky to the Archbishop of Canterbury -
Theosophists, therefore, are respectors of all the religions, and for the religious ethics of Jesus they have profound admiration.
Theosophists know that the deeper one penetrates into the meaning of the dogmas and ceremonies of all religions, the greater becomes their apparent underlying similarity, until finally a perception of their fundamental unity is reached.
Ought Theosophists themselves, then, to be regarded by Christians as their enemies, because they believe that orthodox Christianity is on the whole, opposed to the religion of Jesus; and because they have the courage to tell the Churches that they are traitors to the Master they profess to revere and serve?

 The Religious Movements Homepage: Theosophy
Theosophists discourage inquirers from taking Theosophical doctrines too literally or dogmatically, and claim that Theosophy is best understood as a set of beliefs that will point the seeker in the direction of the truth.
According to Theosophists, teachings about the evolutionary history of the cosmos are preserved in partial form in many world religions, carefully guarded by the Masters or Mahatmas, advanced beings who have evolved past the point of dependence on the physical world.
Theosophy is not meant to contradict existing religions, but to illuminate and to explicate areas of religious belief that may not be that clear.

Spiritual Empire - THE KEY TO THEOSOPHY
Ancient Theosophists claimed, and so do the modern, that the infinite cannot be known by the finite -- i.e., sensed by the finite Self -- but that the divine essence could be communicated to the higher Spiritual Self in a state of ecstasy.
Let no Theosophist, if he would hold to divine, not human truth, say that this "God in secret" listens to, or is distinct from, either finite man or the infinite essence -- for all are one.
It was outlined a few years ago in the Theosophist and "Esoteric Buddhism," and may be found still more elaborated in the "Secret Doctrine." It is based on the oldest philosophy of the world, called the Wisdom-Religion or the Archaic Doctrine.

 Theosophists
The sin is not regarded by theosophists as one of a religious character,.
For the Theosophists of the current century have already visibly impressed themselves on modern literature, and introduced the desire and craving for some philosophy in place of the blind dogmatic faith of yore, among the most intelligent portions of human-kind.
The individuality is the spiritual-intellectual and immortal part of us; deathless, at least for the duration of the kosmic manvantara - the root, the very essence of us, the spiritual sun within, our inner god.

 What Is Theosophy?
The Alexandrian Theosophists were divided into neophytes, initiates, and masters, or hierophants; and their rules were copied from the ancient Mysteries of Orpheus, who, according to Herodotus, brought them from India.
Ammonius obligated his disciples by oath not to divulge his higher doctrines, except to those who were proved thoroughly worthy and initiated, and who had learned to regard the gods, the angels, and the demons of other peoples, according to the esoteric hyponoia, or under-meaning.
For the latter is belief in the Deity as the ALL, the source of all existence, the infinite that cannot be either comprehended or known, the universe alone revealing It, or, as some prefer it, Him, thus giving a sex to that, to anthropomorphize which is blasphemy.

Spiritual Empire - Brotherhood in the Theosophical Movement
In our own day, and for Theosophists especially, recognition of a true teacher is needed, who will interpret that which the greatest sages of the world -- Titans in spirituality and in intellect -- themselves have been in their turn the noble teachers and interpreters of.
I tell you, my Brothers, that there are such Titan-teachers in the world even today, and it is upon the construing of the ancient wisdom of the gods by these teachers that in the past has been laid the superstructure of the different religious and philosophical systems of the world.
I am using this illustration in order to show you what seems to me to be the most important and most practical thing for us Theosophists to do: to forget the opinions and to hold to the fundamental theosophical realities.

 Theosophy World — September 1996
Many who have never heard of the Society are Theosophists without knowing it themselves; for the essence of Theosophy is the perfect harmonizing of the divine with the human in man, the adjustment of his god-like qualities and aspirations, and their sway over the terrestrial or animal passions in him.
In my view, our challenge as Theosophists working for enlightened living in the modem world, is to preserve, treasure, and communicate the original impetus propelling the founding of the TS 120 years ago.
This original impetus charges us to help provide people with access to their birthright of knowledge about who they really are as essentially spiritual beings and their relation to the greater Oneness of which we form part.

Believing in a spiritual and invisible universe, we cannot conceive of it in any other way than as completely dovetailing and corresponding with the material, objective universe; for logic and observation alike teach us that the latter is the outcome and visible manifestation of the former, and that the laws governing both are immutable.
Croucher sees and judges things through his emotional nature, the philosophers whom we study took nothing from any glorious being that did not perfectly accord with the universal harmony, justice, and equilibrium of the manifest plan of the universe.
Though no two of the latter, unfortunately, agree as to what is and what is not truth, yet they do agree with unanimity to antagonize whatever of the teachings of the philosophers we may repeat!

Such is the truth of this question according to the Theosophists and the Súfís.
Briefly, with regard to this theory that all things exist by the Unity, all are agreed--that is to say, the philosophers and the Prophets.
But the question of the Real Existence by which all things exist--that is to say, the reality of the Essence of Unity through which all creatures have come into the world--is admitted by everyone.

There were many people who at first credited him with good faith, and who continued their confidence in him so late as the year 1886.

Note that both styles of rendering hadrons, with three and with six quarks, seem to be represented here, seemingly helping to corroborate the perceptions of the Theosophists and other ancient seers, as well as recognizing modern physics theory.
