Tao - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tao or Dao refers to a Chinese character that was of pivotal meaning in ancient Chinese philosophy and religion.
Tao may be rendered as religion, morality, duty, knowledge, rationality, ultimate truth, path, or taste.
In this sense Tao gains great cosmological and metaphysical significance comparable to the Judaeo-Christian concept of God (albeit stripped of anthropomorphic characteristics); the Greek concept of the logos; or the Dharma in Indian religions.

 CANA - Yin-Yang
Yin and yang also became a part of the I Ching, a form of divination.
Whereas the Tao is perfectly harmonious, the cosmos is in a state of constant disequilibrium " (Spirituality By The Numbers, Georg Feuerstein, p.
Christians should be discerning about practices such as acupuncture that have as yet no medical basis and "exercises" like Tai Chi that are designed based on spiritual beliefs hostile to Christ's claim to be the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Taoism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One of the original founders of Taoist religious sects, Zhang Daoling, said he had received revelations from Lao Zi himself, and most Taoist religious sects hold Lao Zi to be at least a god, if not the highest divinity.
The many gods are manifestations of the one Tao.
From the Tao arises (one unified force or path from where all things in the universe arise), yin and yang-the dual nature of all manifestations of the Tao.

 The Tao-te ching and Lao-tzu
The Tao is the origin of the second aspect, comprising heaven and earth, and, through them, of the multiplicity of finite things.
The first aspect is ultimately beyond name or description, but for convenience the text calls it the Tao, and goes on to describe it as eternal and infinite, inexhaustible and unchanging, all pervading yet imperceptible.
This idea arose when Buddhism entered China in the first century, and though it initially encouraged the acceptance of the foreign religion by the culturally elitist Chinese, it later resulted in a millennium of bitter arguments between Taoists and Buddhists.

Taoism, religions in China, Tao, dualism, yin and yang, tai chi, La-Tse
The essence of Taoism is "Tao", "the way", who is not the "eternal Tao", (not God the Father); he is "the way, the truth and the life" (does it sound like Christ?)...
Taoism is a beautiful religion, actually it is a "predecessor of Christianity", but the one most misunderstood, because for its symbol is used the dualistic anagram of the Yin and Yang, born 1,500 years before Taoism.
The Emperor is the only one who can communicate with Tao, so, for centuries, became the "Emperor-god", the actual god of the people of China...

 [No title]
Yang and yin, in yet another dimension of meaning, refer respectively to the expansive and the contractive aspects of this eternal process, whose diastole-systole is conceived as constant in operation.
For him the Tao, what we would call Divinity, is ever-present in every particle or point of the changing bipolar stream of the manifested universe.
Therefore Taoism includes a cyclical conception of the universe in which an outbreathing from the Great Tao produces "the ten thousand things." When the limit of any such evolution is reached, be this of individual creatures, worlds or universes themselves, there ensues an inbreathing of all that particular creation back to the unmanifest state.

Therefore, Jesus Christ as the theanthropocosmic Tao entails the serendipitous pneumatosociocosmic trajectory in the life-giving spirit of the primordial ki.
Then, the task of Christian theology in the coming age will be the telling of the Tao of Jesus Christ, that is, the sociocosmic narrative of her and his pneumatic dancing with the exploited lives to transform the theanthropocosmic trajectory to the right path (so to speak, orthotao).
Christ as the theanthropocosmic Tao is also the outpouring primordial ki, the life-generating Energy-Spirit who empowers the exploited lives to return to the serendipitous pneumatosociocosmic trajectory.

Just as yin and yang are found within Tai Chi itself, so are the two poles of the Islamic cosmology prefigured in the Divine Reality, or rather, in the relationship between God and the cosmos.
If harmony between yin and yang were to be lost, the universe would cease to flow and nothing could exist.
Both Pen and Tablet, yang and yin, creative and receptive, are necessary for the spiritual realities of all things to come into actuality.

RealMagick Article: Trance-formation (The Cosmic Tao of the Sexes) by Matthew Webb
Like the philosophy of the Tao in ancient China, the age-old practice of Tantra originates from the Vedic texts of India some 6500 years ago.
In this sense, the Tao of sexual union becomes a mutual meditation, upon both pleasure and love simultaneously.
This is as simple as feeling pleasure in the first chakra, and love in the fourth chakra at the same time, and is truly not a very esoteric act.

 Universal Law of Duality
It is said that the nature of yin and yang was first recognized by Fu Shi between six to eight thousand years ago.
A spiritual parallel can also be seen between the Jewish tradition and the Hindu tradition in regard to the first creation.

The Tao as the primordial, true and unified energy manifests himself/herself in the myriad creatures.
In the minds of men and women of the total community, the paradoxical power and intervention of Yin and Yang are personified into world after world and layer after layer of spirits, good and evil (Saso 1972, p.12).
God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done (Genesis 2:2-3).

Taoism and the Arts of China (Art Institute of Chicago)
The primary symbols of yin and yang in ancient China were the white tiger and green dragon, also symbols of autumn and spring, respectively.
Consequently, the human body holds within it the energies of both the earth and the heavens, making it a microcosm of the world.
Yin energy sank to form the earth, yang energy rose to form the heavens, and both energies harmonized to form human beings.

 HPS Health - Longevity Guidelines
Yin is abundant and enduring, while Yang is limited and vulnerable, and this is reflected in the fact that throughout the world women tend to outlive men by a factor of five to ten years.
"The Chinese have always held the Taoist view that sexual relations between male and female are the primary earthly manifestation of the universal principles of Yin and Yang.
By patterning their sexual relations on the models of Heaven and Earth and conforming to the nature of Yin and Yang, men may derive life-giving benefits from the sexual forces, rather than being forever at their mercy.

 TAO
This Tao is unknowable and unspeakable; all human knowledge is knowledge of individual things and their relations, so no human knowledge can encompass the whole of everything as as single thing.
For the Taoists, anything viewed apart from this unitary principle, that is, anything viewed as having reality in and of itself apart from its place in the entirety of the universe, is fundamentally an illusion.
For these two foundational Taoists, the Tao becomes the unitary principle and source of all there is, replacing T'ien as the source and governor of the universe.

TAO - the Unity of YIN (the feminine power) und YANG (the masculine power) is symbol and mirror of the manifestation of DIVINE CREATIONAL POWER - of HIM-HER, of GOD-GODDESS.
Each part expresses in itself a predominant gender and is androgyne at the same time: it is either predominantly male or female and at the same time has both male and female aspects.

Tao Yin (Chinese: 導引; pinyin: dǎoyǐn "guide and pull") exercises were an ancient precursor of qigong, specifically practised in Chinese Taoist monasteries for health and spiritual cultivation, attested from at least 500 BC.
Tao Yin is also said to be (along with Shaolin Ch'uan) a primary formative ingredient in the martial art known as T'ai Chi Ch'uan.
