John Lateran is the Cathedral of the Bishop of Rome who is also the leader of the Roman Catholic Church and direct successor to Peter, the rock on this earth chosen by Christ.
This feast is therefore a symbol of the unity of all Catholic Christians with Peter’s successor.
In this way, therefore, St. John Lateran is the “mother of all churches” because of the “spiritual maternity” that goes with the Primacy of Peter, succeeded by John Paul II.
