Shi'a Islam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shi'a Islam holds that the Imamate is one of the fundamentals of Islam (A part of the Usul-Ad-din) and that one should follow the Imams of Ahlul Bayt, in order to correctly follow the Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah.
Shi'a Islam, also Shi`ite Islam or Shi`ism (Arabic: شيعة‎ translit: Shī‘ah Persian: شیعه‎ ) is the second largest denomination of the religion of Islam.
Shi'a Muslims adhere to the teachings of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his Ahlul Bayt (family).

 ShaikhSiddiqui Shia
Shias believe that during the occultation of the Twelfth Imam, he is spiritually present--some believe that he is materially present as well--and he is besought to reappear in various invocations and prayers.
The five Shia principles of religion (Usul ad Din) are: belief in divide unity (Tawhid); prophecy (Nubuwwah); resurrection (Maad); divine justice (Mdl); and the belief in the Imams as successors of the Prophet (Imamah).
The Sunni-Shia division of Islam originated as a succession dispute shortly after the death of the prophet Muhammad in 632 A.D. Shia believe that the proper successor of Muhammad was Ali.

The Origins of the Sunni/Shia split in Islam
Shia theology is distinguished by its glorification of Ali.
The term Shia or Shi'ite derives from a shortening of Shiat Ali or partisans of Ali.
The Shia Imam has come to be imbued with Pope-like infallibility and the Shia religious hierarchy is not dissimilar in structure and religious power to that of the Catholic Church within Christianity.

 Shia Islam
Shia Muslims believe that Ali, the son-in-law and cousin of Muhammad, was the first of the twelve imams appointed by God to succeed Muhammad as leader of the Muslim community.
Bahá'í Faith: This religion accepts the Twelver Shia succession as correct, though they also believe that the twelfth imam is the Báb.
The variants of Shia Islam differ regarding the rights of succession after the death of Muhammad, but they agree that the imams were usurped from their rightful position.

Shia (from Shiat Ali, the Party of Ali)
Ismaili Shia doctrine closely resembled Twelver Shia Islam with regard to observance of the sharia but also included a system of philosophy and science coordinated with religion that proved the divine origin of the Imamate and the rights of the Fatimids to it.
Ismaili Shias are connected with the Fatimid Dynasty in Egypt; some believe that Muhammad ibn Ismail, the Seventh Imam, was the last Imam.

About The Ismaili Imamat and Origins of Shiism
A major world religion, Islam today counts a quarter of the globe's population among its adherents, bound to their faith by the affirmation of the witness that there is no divinity except God, and Muhammad is His messenger.
The Shia, therefore, attest that after the Prophet, the authority for the guidance of the community was vested in Ali.
The Shia or "party" of Ali, already in existence during the lifetime of the Prophet, maintained that while the revelation ceased at the Prophet's death, the need for spiritual and moral guidance of the community, through an ongoing interpretation of the Islamic message, continued.

Shia News Articles: Islam Imamate the perfection of Deen
During his lifetime Islam was recognised through the Prophet (saaws) after him Islam is recognised through his Imam, this is clear from the fact that the Prophet (saaws) told his followers ‘He who dies without giving bayah his Imam of the time dies the death of one belonging to the days of jahiliyya’.
This verse makes it clear Allah (swt) did not declare the perfection of religion, the completion of his bounties and his satisfaction until Hadhrath Ali (as)’s Imamate was formally declared at the end of the Prophetic mission.
After the Prophet (saaws) we argue that Allah (swt) continued to provide the Ummah with perfect examples, if we deny this then Allah (swt) is not just having bestowed an example to the Sahaba and ignored all generations that followed.

 Shi'i
Practically all branches of Shi'i Islam agree that the 4 first imams, Ali, Hassan, Husayn, and Ali Zayn l'Abidin were correct leaders of Islam.
The seeds of schism were planted upon the deathbed of the Prophet Muhammad, when, according to Shi'i tradition, he indicated that Ali was to be successor as the leader of Islam.
A significant feature of Twelver Shi'i belief is their expectation of the return of the last Imam, called the Mahdi, to lead the faithful in establishing the Shi'i belief on Islam in preparation for the Judgement Day.
