The Scapular: History, Form and Use in Catholic Christianity - ReligionFacts.com
Origins: At the petition of the Augustinian monks this scapular was approved and endowed with indulgences by Leo XIII in a Decree of the Congregation of Rites of 19-21 December, 1893.
The five are: the Scapular of the Most Blessed Trinity, that of the Carmelites, of the Servites, of the Immaculate Conception, and the Red Scapular of the Passion.
Strictly speaking, this is not a scapular, because it is not connected with the habit of a religious congregation, but it has the same form as a scapular and is perhaps the second-most popular such devotional object after the brown scapular.

 ipedia.com: Chasuble Article
It is the principal and most conspicuous of the vestments used at Mass.
The chasuble, (one of the liturgical vestments of Christian churches of various denominations including Roman Catholics and Anglicans), was originally a wide mantle, with a round hole in the middle through which to pass the head, and falling to the feet.
Following the Second Vatican Council, the scapular form fell out of fashion and it is a variation of the original that is now most commonly used.

It was at Manchester that the brothers popularized the May devotions, and promoted the wearing of the scapular of Mount Carmel.
In 1846 the brothers were called to England, and a school was begun at Bury, Lancashire, but in 1856 the community removed to Manchester.
On 10 July, 1854, the founder sailed from Havre to take the direction of a school in Louisville, Kentucky, at the invitation of Bishop Martin J. Spalding, who had long desired the Xaverians to come to the United States.
