Topic: Salvation

Salvation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Salvation to the Hindu is the soul's liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth and attainment of the highest spiritual state.
The consequence of salvation is that the sinner's sins are forgiven and he/she is born again as a new person, a Christian, a believer, a child of God, and is sealed with the Holy Spirit.
Salvation is arguably one of the most important Christian spiritual concepts, perhaps second only to the deity of Jesus Christ.

 Chapter 1
Salvation will come to those who move from faith to faith, to those who continue to live by faith.
Likewise, Paul said the gospel of Christ is "the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth… For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:16-17).
Future salvation consists of eternal life free from sin and its consequences, and this simply means entering into the future aspect of the kingdom of God (the new heaven and new earth that will be free of rebellion against God's rule).

Salvation means freedom to live in this world as the liberated children of God, as members of the community of faith empowered by God's Spirit for mission and service to other people (Acts 2:14-47; Romans 8:9-39).
Salvation is a comprehensive term for the series of liberating acts exemplified by God's deliverance of Israel from Egypt and climaxing in God's saving act in Jesus Christ.
One of the meanings of "salvation" in the Bible and the classical Christian tradition is God's gift of life beyond this world, the sure hope of life with God in eternity.

salvation - International Standard Bible Encyclopedia
In systematic theology, however, "salvation" denotes the whole process by which man is delivered from all that would prevent his attaining to the highest good that God has prepared for him.
Occasionally even Christ speaks of the kingdom of God as present, in the sense that citizens of the future kingdom are living already on this earth (Matthew 11:11; Luke 17:21(?); the meaning of the latter verse is very dubious).
(3) Sacrifices as means of salvation are taught chiefly by Ezekiel, while at the rebuilding of the temple (Haggai, Zechariah) and the depression that followed (Malachi), they were much in the foreground, but the pre-exilic prophets have little to say about their positive value (Jeremiah 7:22 is the nadir).
