Palaemon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One of the Argonauts, a son of Hephaestus and a mortal, was named Palaemon.
This was the birth name given to the Greek hero Herakles and the name he used until the Pythoness at Delphi first addressed him as Herakles when he sought a cure for his madness.
The Greek hero Melicertes, the son of the Boeotian prince Athamas and Ino, daughter of Cadmus was later called Palaemon.
