Narasimha ("man-lion") (also known as Narasingh, Narasinga) (नरसिंह in Devanagari) is the fourth incarnation (Avatara) of the Hindu God Vishnu.
Narasimha indicates God's omnipresence and the lesson is that God is everywhere.
In the form of his previous avatar, Varaha, Vishnu killed the demon Hiranyaksha.
