Mishnah: Definition and Much More From Answers.com
The Mishnah (Hebrew &;, "repetition") is a major source of rabbinic Judaism's religious texts.
Also noteworthy is the Mishnah's lack of citation of a scriptural basis for its laws.

 Halachah in Brief #66
Mishnah Berurah points out that there are authorities who believe that a wealthy person should spend even more than a third, since the money is relatively unimportant to him.
That would mean that Mishnah Berurah was perfectly comfortable ruling that a person would have to spend a tenth of his income on an etrog, if there were no other one available.
In a teshuvah about writing a Sefer Torah, R. Moshe Feinstein (Yoreh Deah, Part I, 143) mentions that he had previously expressed his view that according to most authorities, one is not required to spend a significant some for any particular mitsvah, certainly not a tenth.

What i am saying is if the mishnah berurah meant it was a wrong practice he would say that, like the mishnah berurah usually does.
The terminology used by the Mishneh Berurah matches exactly to the way it is presented in the Sugya of "Tefilat Arvit Reshut." However in that Sugya it is very clear and there is no argument that Reshut just means Mitzvah verses Chovah.
I am not trying to make any diyukim.

Mishnah Berurah, however, rules, that b'dieved one fulfills his obligation even if he does not have in mind the reasons for the mitzvah.
Even according to Rashi's view, a father is required to teach his son the first passage of Shema as soon as he learns to speak, but not necessarily within the time framework to which the recital of Shema is limited.
It all depends on how we understand what the Mishnah means when it says that minors are exempt from the mitzvah of reciting the Shema.

 Dei'ah veDibur - Information & Insight - OPINION & COMMENT
The Mishnah Berurah (ibid.) quotes the Levush who explains that once Hallel is not completed on the seventh day of Pesach which is yom tov, it follows that one should also not complete the Hallel on chol hamoed, so that chol hamoed should not have superiority over the final days of yom tov.
It is noteworthy that the Mishnah Berurah does not mention the reason of the gemora in Erchin.
However, it still remains to be explained why we don't complete the Hallel during the previous days of chol hamoed.

The Mishnah Berurah also brings down that the same applies to men, according to the Maharil.
The Levush brings down that there is another reason for women not to do work, because the days of "Chanukah" were set as days of holiday, and praise.

However, the Mishnah Berurah (99:11; Bi'ur Halachah 185:5) cites the VILNA GA'ON and PRI MEGADIM who do not permit one to recite any blessing while intoxicated (l'Chatchilah).
The REMA writes that the Halachos that apply to reciting Shemoneh Esreh also apply to reciting Shema, and to the blessings before and after Keri'as Shema (Mishnah Berurah 99:7), while intoxicated.

The Mishnah Berurah 187:9 states, however: "Today, women are accustomed to say these words, having in mind that through the merit of the mitzvoth of brith milah and Torah study all Jews come to inherit Eretz Yisrael.
Moreover, women do have the obligation to study those sections of Torah that are relevant to them."
The Remah, Orach Chayim 187:3, states that women should not recite these words since they refer to brith milah and Torah study, and they are not obligated in these mitzvoth.

Halacha File: Cosmetics and Toiletries for Pesach — Part One
The Mishnah Berurah (based on the Magen Avraham, 442:15, who cites the Terumat Hadeshen 129) explains that Achsh’vei applies only if one intentionally eats the item.
The Mishnah Berurah (442:45) adds that this is permitted even though the scribes might absentmindedly put the quill in their mouth (as was common in the pre-modern age).
The basis for this ruling is the Gemara (Sh’vuot 24) that rules that if one swears not to eat an inedible item and subsequently eats it, he has then violated his oath because he has upgraded (Achsh’vei) that item.
