She invited Lorenzo to visit her and attend a school of Hebrew newly established by the church.
By 1835, Lorenzo's mother, Rosetta Pettibone Snow, and his older sister Eliza Roxcy Snow, had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Lorenzo Snow (1814-1901) was the fifth President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from 1898 to 1901.
Although Lorenzo's sister Eliza, in her biography of him, claims to have whetted his interest in Mormonism while he was at Oberlin, his own account tells of hearing the Book of Mormon being read in his home in Mantua and of later meeting with the Prophet at Hiram in 1831.

What's the Mormon TRUTH? Was God once a man or not?
From President Snow's understanding of the teachings of the Prophet on this doctrinal point, he coined the familiar couplet: "As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become." This teaching is peculiar to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
He said: "As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become." (Lorenzo Snow, The Millennial Star 54:404.) Time and time again during the period of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Prophet Joseph Smith, various evidences were given to him sustaining, amplifying, and explaining the personality of God.
The doctrine of Eternal Progression, and especially the teaching embodied in Snow's couplet, is one of the main roadblocks standing in the way of the church repositioning itself as a mainstream Christian faith.

There is abundant testimony from Mormon sources to show that the doctrine of polygamy, with the "spiritual wife" adjunct, was practised in Nauvoo for some time before Joseph Smith's death.

Il Libro di Mormon: Anticipating Growth Beyond Italy's Waldensian Valleys - FARMS JBMS
When Elder Lorenzo Snow of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles organized the Italian Mission in the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1850, he began a three-step process that culminated in the translation of the Book of Mormon into Italian.
In large part, because of Beckwith's benign attitude, Snow and his small band of missionaries were initially welcomed to mingle among the Waldensians and to preach before their congregations.
One of the first Mormon converts in Italy was described as a "firm believer in The Voice of Joseph." The church was unable to distribute Il Libro di Mormon in the Catholic cities because the constitution and laws of the Kingdom of Sardinia did not guarantee religious liberty.
