Ahmad ibn Ibrihim al-Ghazi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Imam Ahmad campaigned again in Ethiopia in 1531, breaking Emperor Lebna Dengel's ability to resist in the Battle of Amba Sel on October 28, then marched north to loot the island monastery of Lake Hayq and the stone churches of Lalibela.
Ahmad's invasion of Ethiopia is described in detail in the Futuh al-habasa ("The Conquest of Ethiopia") written in Arabic by Ahmad's follower Sihab ad-Din Admad ibn 'Abd-al-Qadir, and covers the story up to March 19, 1537.
This battle ended when Imam Ahmad was wounded in the leg by a chance shot, and seeing his banners signal retreat, the Portuguese and their Ethiopian allies fell upon the disorganized Muslims, who suffered losses but managed to reform next to the river on the distant side.

Imam Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hambal, the founder of the Hambali School of Muslim jurisprudence, is one of the greatest personalities of Islam who profoundly influenced both the historical development and modern revival.
Though the fundamental purpose of the Imam’s teaching may be seen as a reaction against the codification of Fiqh, his disciples collected and systematised his replies to questions, which gave birth to the Hambali Fiqh, the fourth School of Muslim jurisprudence.
Ahmad’s father Muhammad ibn Hambal, who was employed in the Imperial Army in Khorasan, later moved to Baghdad, where he died three years later.

Imam Ahmad Raza’s response to this was that belief in the temporal finality of Muhammad’s (Allah bless him and give him peace) prophethood was among the ‘fundaments’ of belief.
As Imam Ahmad Raza considered the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) to be the most beloved of Almighty Allah’s prophets, it followed that Muhammad Mustapha (Allah bless him and give him peace) must have been one of the messengers referred to in these verses.
The Imam’s argument against this group was that if one believed that Almighty Allah [Exalted is He] can lie, one could be inclined to doubt even the first half of the profession of faith [the kalima].
