The Prophets Sulaiman (Solomon), Shu'aib, Lut (Lot), Ishaq (Isaac), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Salih, Yunus (Jonah), Yusuf (Joseph), Zakariyyah, Yahya (John), Dawud (David), Ya`qub (Jacob), and 'Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon them) are all part of its multi-layered mosaic as is the Last of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Furthermore, Sayyidina Ibrahim, along with Rebecca, Maryam, Ya`qub, Ishaq, Yunus, Yahya, Musa, Lut and Dawud (peace be upon them all) are believed to lie in its soil.
Masjid ul-Khalil (or the Ibrahimi mosque), it is no wonder that some consider it a Holy Sanctuary.

Damascus Breeze: Dedicated to Sh. Abdar Rahman ash Shaghouri  [ Modern Muslima.com ]
Any student who has ever sat in a class with sheikh Muhammad is bound to hear mention of his father in his eternal gratitude to him for the immense knowledge he imparted into his young son, our teacher Sheikh Muhammad al Yaqoubi.
One of the bounties I am eternally grateful for on this trip was how I chanced upon the site wherein sheikh Muhammad’s father and teacher, the venerable Imam of the recent past of the Grand Ummayad mosque, Sheikh Ibrahim al Yaqoubi, may Allah have mercy on him, is interred.
One ostensible shrine is contained within the Grand Ummayyad mosque in the old city.

Ibrahim Dakkak affirms that the one thing they can do is to stubbornly continue to maintain and restore al Haram al-Sharif.
As a secular Muslim Jerusalemite, Ibrahim Dakkak's attachment to al Haram and its surrounding areas is not of a religious nature.
Once, Dakkak recalls, Teddy Kollek, Jerusalem's mayor at the time and a frequent visitor to al Haram, was asked whether the third temple would be built: "His rather diplomatic answer was that it would definitely be rebuilt, but only when the Messiah comes!

Hasanal-Basri and Uways al Qarani were disciples of Ali, whilst Ibrahim al-Adham, Bishr al_Hafi and Bayazid al Bastami were associated with the circle of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq: and Ma’ruf alKharghi was a close companion of Imam Rida.
As with the Companions and the Tabi’un, there was in the subsequent centuries intimate contact between the Imams and some of the greatest of the early Sufis.
With the opulent life-styles of rich sultans and corrupt kings and governors the more pious and god-fearing populace rigorously protested in favour of the strict application of the divine (shariah) law often at their own peril and sacrificing their lives, whilst others retreated from public life in went into seclusion.

Archbishop Ibrahim added that the current merge of civilizations evident amongst Muslims and Christians in Syria is a complete one, which includes various fields such as work, education and living areas and is highlighted in Christian and Muslim festivities where greetings are exchanged.
Archbishop Gregorious Ibrahim, head of the Halab Catholic Church, said that the Arab and Islamic delegation insisted the statement should include a clause granting the right of resistance to people, hence drawing a line between terrorism and the "right for struggle".
Arab Christians, he said, embraced Islam since its emergence and worked hand in hand with Muslims to build the Islamic nation and defend it when required.

A BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF SINDH’S PAST, PRESENT and Future
From the Jewish Turah (OLD TESTAMENT) and the Christian Bible (NEW TESTAMENT), we learn that it was not Ismail but Ishaq, Ibrahim's second son, who was taken for sacrifice and that Ibrahim's first wife was his step-sister (same father but different mother).
The reason for the conquest of Sindh by Ummayyad Imperialism was Raja Dahir’s refusal to return Muhammad Bin Allafi, who had taken asylum under Raja Dahir’s government.
As it was against the social rule of the Sindhis in those days, to return the parsons who had placed themselves under their protection from their enemies.

One of them, Mary the Copt, a beautiful Egyptian, gave birth to his son Ibrahim, who died as an infant.

It was certainly a form of monotheism but it was apparently neither a Jewish or Christian sect.

This was a background in which it was mandatory on every mosque going Muslim to curse and hurl abuse at Ali and his kin and it was spearheaded by the Mullah on the Pulpit, a practice started under Muawiyya's orders.

This is specially true of hadith in favour of the Banni Ummayad and their mentors Abu Bakar and Umar since the legitimacy of the Banu Ummayyad rested upon the legitimacy of the first two "pious" caliphs.

 Imam Al Sadiq
Ali ibn Ibrahim, with his chain of narrators, reports from Imam Jafar Sadiq that the Imam stated, “For every good deed that s slave of God performs, the reward for it is specified in the Quran, except for the midnight prayer which commands an unusually high reward on account of its great worth.
Hisham, the Ummayyad Caliph, had orderd the arrest of Imam Jafar Sadiq and had him brought to Damascus.
This was a result of revolts within the Islamic realm, in particular the uprising which was aimed at overthrowing the Ummayyad Caliphs, and the bloody wars which finally led to the fall and extinction of the Ummayad dynasty.

 Iraq's Bermuda Triangle
From shortly after the death of the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (from whom the Shia branch of Islam gets its inspiration), Iraq has been ruled by Sunnis.
The Ummayyad and Abbasid Caliphates succeeded Imam Ali, and thereafter the Sunni Ottoman Empire until World War I. The post-WWI monarchy in Iraq was Sunni, as was the line of Iraqi dictators which replaced it, leading to Saddam Hussein himself.
Thus, for the last 1400 years, Arab or non-Arab Sunnis have always been in control of Iraq.

These were the advocates of free will and argued that man has the ability to create his own conduct, both good and evil.
Man’s knowledge falls short of this, as man has only a general knowledge of the effects of his actions.[22]

Ayurveda: the Traditional Indian Medicine System and its Global Dissemination
Al-Mansur, the second 'Abbasid caliph, received embassies from Sindh, one of which included some Indian pandits who presented him two Indian books on astronomy; the Brahmasiddhanta and the Khandakhadyaka, which by the orders of the caliph were translated into Arabic by Ibrahim al-Fazari (786-806 A.D).
Zubayr (1960) says that a Chinese monarch sent a gift in the form of a book to the first Ummayyad Caliph (660-680 AD).
The book contained some secrets and wisdom regarding Indian medicine, alchemy and astronomy.

The reason for their black color was that during Hashmi Movement (the movement to kick out Ummayyads), the Abbassi leader Imam Ibrahim was killed by the Ummayad government.
In his mourning Abbasis adopted black color, which later became their symbol when they came to power.
Abbasids' national color was black; hence the flag was also black.

 Occultation
Al-Nu'mani reports that al-Baqir advised his partisan Abu al-Jarud to keep quiet at home, and not to implicate himself in the militant activities of some 'Alids against the Umayyads, since the Ummayyad state had a natural lifespan and the moment of its downfall hand not yet come.
The poet Jarir applies this term to Ibrahim, the prophet.
Accordingly, they stressed the propagation of their teachings, which they expected, would result in religious and political awareness among the people and would prepare the ground for the task of al-Qa'im.

For example Ibraham was chosen over Ibrahim (which seems to be necessary for the rhyme.) Also, three different ways of vowelling sura 30:1 result in three different meanings.
One awkward rendition was chosen because it fits history.
