Sin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Atonement for sins is discussed in the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament.
Sin has been a term most usually used in a religious context, and today describes any lack of conformity to the will of God; especially, any willful disregard for the norms revealed by God is a sin.
Note that Judaism's views on sin and atonement are not identical to those in the Hebrew Bible alone, but rather are based on the laws of the Bible as seen through the Jewish oral law.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Sin
In the Old Testament sin is set forth as an act of disobedience (Genesis 2:16-17; 3:11; Isaiah 1:2-4; Jeremiah 2:32); as an insult to God (Numbers 27:14); as something detested and punished by God (Genesis 3:14-19; Genesis 4:9-16); as injurious to the sinner (Tob., xii, 10); to be expiated by penance (Ps.
The principal interior causes of sin are ignorance, infirmity or passion, and malice.
Sin in Luther's doctrine cannot be a deliberate transgression of the Divine law.

 The Wages of Sin
God's wrath against sin is manifested in the death of the sinner, a Christless death in which he is dead to God, dead to Christ, dead to virtue, dead to truth, dead to purity, dead to righteousness, dead to peace, dead to joy, dead to reality, dead to promise, dead to hope.
And therefore, if eternal torment is the penalty for sin, then salvation is a mere myth, and the Bible the world's most abominable maze of evil imaginings; for it then merely leads men to trust for deliverance to a concept which will lead to everlasting sorrow.
If the wages of sin is eternal torment, then we must re-write the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Beyond Forgiveness: Blasphemy Against the Spirit
To reject the doctrine of eternal hell under the wrath of God is to reject the forthright teaching of our Lord Jesus.
"Truly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter." Literally: "All things will be forgiven to the sons of men, the sins and the blasphemies whatever they blaspheme." No exceptions are mentioned.
So when Jesus says in Mark 3:28, "All sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they utter," he means, all sins and blasphemies from which you genuinely repent.

 The Unforgivable Sin
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (otherwise known as the unforgivable or unpardonable sin) is a spiritual condition, arising when a person has gone so far in sin that it is impossible to repent and be saved.
As the Bible says, the wages of sin is death.
A person is in danger of committing this sin by professing a Christian belief or knowing about the way of salvation but inwardly rejecting it or living the part of a hypocrite.

To not believe in the eternal security doctrine does not follow Christ's, or Paul's teaching, and flies in the face of scripture, and says that Christ's work on calvary, and victory over death wasnt good enough.

In His parables of the talents and the pounds Christ teaches that there will be degrees of eternal happiness in heaven, and there are no servants who are not given any talents at all, or pounds: all will be rewarded according to their faithfulness.
From this time on, evil, sin, and death march hand in hand through the Bible, and through the world, down to this present day, bringing terrible consequences in their train.
Christ spoke these words in dead earnest, and it is bet trifling with language to claim that He used the same word to mean "temporary" and "eternal" in the same verse.
