Deacon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For the role of Deacon in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS/Mormon), see Priesthood (Mormonism) and Deacon (Mormonism).
Deacons in the Roman Catholic Church are styled by adding Reverend to the front of their previous style; for example "Reverend Mister", or in the case of a religious, "Reverend Brother".
In the liturgy, it is proper for the deacon to proclaim the Gospel and distribute Holy Communion.

 DEACON’S BEACON
The deacon is a sacramentum-persona of Jesus the Servant of God.
The bishop alone, and not priests, imposes hands upon the deacon at his ordination, thus manifesting in a negative manner the difference between the ‘ministry’ of the deacon and the ‘priesthood’ of the priest.
He writes that deacons, "strengthened by sacramental grace, in communion with the bishop and the presbyterium, …serve the people of God in the diacona of the liturgy, of the word, and of charity".
