Guido awaits a summons to Chicago to evict the curse of the goat, and resurrect the glory days of the Cubs.
The original Billy Goat Sianis, who bequeathed his business-- and the curse-- to his nephew, gave Wrigley Field ushers good reason to eject him from that Series game against the Tigers.
So they should be ready for the mystical that could free them of the curse that has kept them out of the World Series since 1945.

Curse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For example, the Curse of the Billy Goat is used to explain the failures of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, who have not won a championship since 1908.
Belief in curses is found in many cultures and is mentioned in the scriptures of many religions.
A number of sections of the Talmud show a belief in the power of curses (Berachot 19a, 56a.) In some cases, a curse is described as related to the nature of a prayer (Ta'an.

The Cubs, however, turned high and mighty on him, barring the billy goat at the turnstile.
And when Detroit prevailed, he sent Wrigley a telegram, saying simply, "Who smells now?" The Cubs, of course, haven't been back to the Series since then, despite occasional lifting of the curse by some of Sianis' less vindictive descendants and frequent peace overtures by the team.
When the Cubbies won the National League pennant in 1945, local tavern owner William Sianis decided to celebrate the event by taking his pet goat, Sonovia, to Wrigley Field for the fourth game of the World Series against Detroit.

 Better pet that Goat, Gordon
The Goat, as most Chicagoans call the grimy underground inn, is owned by the Sianis family, whose patriarch supposedly put a curse on the Cubs when they refused to allow him to bring his pet goat, Murphy, into the 1945 World Series.
Then they tried to lift it by letting in goats of all kinds - live ones, stuffed ones and infielders who played like goats.
Gordon had better do something quick: Maybe giving Billy Goat's a free plug would do the trick.

 Cold Day for Baseball
Die-hard fans believe this is due to theCurse of the Billy Goat.” This locally famous curse came about when a tavern owner named William “Billy Goat” Sianis tried to bring his billy goat “Murphy” to game 4 of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley Field.
Although many a billy goat has graced the field since then (no doubt in an effort to lift the curse), some believe that the Cubs haven’t won due to the fact that the hex still exists.
William’s son, Sam Sianis, now owns theBilly Goat Tavern” in Chicago, which is a popular destination for newspaper writers during the lunch hour.

The Unreasonable Man... Now With 33% Less Wit
My biggest argument for the Billy goat curse is this: The Cubs have consistently sucked since the beginning of the curse.
They haven't been to the World Series since 1945 (when the curse was established by Bill "Billy Goat" Sianis [original owner of the yummy Billy Goat Taverns in Chicago]), and they haven't won a World Series since 1908 (that's right, four more years and it will be a century of baseball futility in Chicago).
Being a Chicago Cubs fan, I have a problem with Red Sox fans who claim that the "Curse of the Bambino" is a more powerful curse than the Cubs Billy Goat Curse.
