Kabbalah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kabbalah is a doctrine of esoteric knowledge concerning God and the universe.
Kabbalah ( Hebrew קַבּ֏ל֏ה "reception", Standard Hebrew Qabbala, Tiberian Hebrew Qabbālāh ; also written variously as Cabala, Cabalah, Cabbala, Cabbalah, Kabala, Kabalah, Kabbala, Qabala, Qabalah) is an interpretation (exegesis, hermeneutic) key, "soul" of the Torah ( Hebrew Bible), or the religious mystical system of Judaism claiming an insight into divine nature.
Kabbalah includes the understanding of the spiritual spheres in creation, and the rules and ways by which God administers the existence of the universe.

Kabbala Info - Qabala, Qabalah, Cabala, etc.
In the Kabbalah, all manifestations are said to have their origin in the AIN SOPH AUR and the successive emanations of the Godhead reveal aspects of his divine nature.
The Kabbalah presents a symbolic explanation of the origin of the universe, the relationship of human beings to the Godhead, and an emanationist approach to creation whereby the Infinite Light (AIN SOPH AUR) manifests through different SEPHIROTH on the TREE OF LIFE.
Kabbalah: From the Hebrew word QBL meaning 'an oral tradition', the esoteric and mystical division of Judaism.

However, if you choose to study Kabbalah by name you should recognise that Kabbalah was and is a part of Judaism, and an important part of the history of Jewish people, and respect the beliefs which not only gave rise to Kabbalah, but which are still an essential part of Jewish faith..
Many of the source texts of Kabbalah are commentaries on the Bible, and derive their insights using a variety of devices, such as puns, anagrams, gematria (letter manipulations) and cross references to the same word in different contexts.
Another aspect of Jewish religion which influenced Kabbalah was the Biblical phenomenon of prophecy.

The behinnot doctrine, in brief, states that each of the Sefirot, the ten archetypes through which God emanates and structures the world, is composed of a number of aspects which relate it, in specific ways, to each of the others.
The relationship between Kindness and Judgment ( Chesed and Din) is said to give rise to a third Sefirah, Rachamim (Compassion) which, according to the Kabbalists, provides a resolution of the tension between the first two.
That acts of kindness must be rendered "thoughtfully", and informed with a certain wisdom as to both their long and short term consequences, further establishes an aspect of Chochmah in Chesed.

There are many excellent books laying out the structure and meaning of Kabbalah, along a spectrum that ranges from the ultra-orthodox Judaic interpretation (which is the only correct one, of course) to the ultra-metaphysical or magical interpretation proposed by the Order of the Golden Dawn (which is also the only correct one).
The study of Kabbalah helps us to see and value both the ascending and descending actions of the divine; Kabbalah meditations or exercises can help up appreciate the experience of divine action as gnosis.
It seems to me that this Middle Road of Kabbalah study honors the (possibly as long as) 3,000 years of Judaic tradition whilst opening the windows to the fresh insights of contemporary religious, psychological and philosophical scholars and enthusiasts.

 Notes on Kabbalah
The birth of form takes place in Chesed, and that is why Chesed corresponds to the visionary; the preservation and destruction of form takes place in Gevurah, and that is why Gevurah corresponds to the warrior.
The Spiritual Vision of Chesed is the Vision of Love, love and caring for all living things, and the desire to find a way (be it ever so small - remember humility) to make the world a better place.
In the twentieth century we have seen a succession of leaders harness their vision, creativity and leadership to the four Vices of Chesed, which are tyranny, bigotry, hypocrisy and gluttony.

 Jewish Spirituality - Kaballa 101
The fourth of the Ten Sefirot -- chesed -- precedes all others because it is the only one that is unconditional and unmotivated.
Of the Ten Sefirot, tiferet -- which literally means "beauty" or "glory" -- is the most central as it mediates between chesed ("kindness") and gevurah ("strength").

In Kabbalah, great importance is attached to manifold manipulations of letters and numbers, particularly those involved in many of the “Names of God,” to which are ascribed magical properties.
Through his use of the name of God, the Baal Shem Tov was believed to perform miraculous cures.
This, and other related issues, resulted in the Council of Jamnia in A.D. 90, which began redefining Judaism and led to the formulation of the Talmud (3rd - 6th centuries) and what is known as the Geonic Era (7th - 11th centuries).

The connection between Adam Qadmon and the Divine Triad is cut, for there is no path leading from Chesed to Binah.
It is the center of Microprosopus (Microcosmos), which embraces the five Sephiroth around Tiphareth: Geburah, Chesed (Gedulah), Netzach, Hod, and Yesod, which are together called Adam Qadmon or Adam Primus.
Notably, it is the sphere below the abyss that has paths connecting it directly to the influence of three supernal spheres, and is placed in symbolic center of the Tree of Life diagram.
