 Encyclopedia: God
A belief in a "God" or gods is found in all cultures, although followers of a particular God or gods may consider other gods to be nonexistent or inferior.
While on the surface neopagans worship many gods, many practice a kind of monotheism, believing "all gods are One God".
Monotheism holds that there is only one god, or that the one true god is worshipped in different religions under different names.

 Hinduism
Hinduism recognizes thousands of lessor Gods that all come under the umbrella of the one God Brahman.
Many features of Hindu mythology and several of the lesser gods--such as Ganesa, an elephant-headed god, and Hanuman, the monkey god--were incorporated into Hinduism and assimilated into the appropriate Vedic gods by this means.
The core of religion does not depend on the existence or nonexistence of God or on whether there is one god or many.
