Aum namah Sivaya - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The holy Natchintanai proclaims, Namah Sivaya is in truth both agama and Veda.
The Aum namah Sivāya mantra first appears (yet without the Aum) in the fifth anuvaka of the Vedic hymn to Rudra (an earlier aspect of Siva) in the
Sages declare that mantra is life, that mantra is action, that mantra is love and that the repetition of mantra, japa, bursts forth wisdom from within.

 Namah Sivaya
Aum NaM Namah Sivaya, Aum MaM Namah Sivaya, Aum SiM Namah Sivaya, Aum VaM Namah Sivaya, Aum YaM Namah Sivaya, (can each be done 108 times with Rishi, Chanda, Devata to give birth to the mantra).
Aum Namah Sivaya is three words and 6 syllables- so it takes the 3rd house energy (parakrama) to the sixth house.
So Aum Namah Sivaya is best for karma yoga and purification of our bad karma and bad habits.

 ShreeGanesh.COM - Loving Ganesh - Chapter 10: Mantra Recitation
These are realms that God Ganesha rules over as Lord of Categories, and this is the knowledge that He can grant devotees who perform Aum japa and meditation on the meaning of Aum.
Thus, Aum japa performed as an invocation to Lord Ganesha, the Lord of Wisdom and Knowledge -- while love is welling up from our hearts and tears are for no reason flowing simultaneously -- calls forth the knowledge of the entirety of our existence in these four categories of consciousness.
Therefore, if you say, realizing the oneness with the universe, " shanti to the world" every day, then the grace of God will come and there will be world peace, universal peace.

The main mantra of my worship is "AUM NAMAH SIVAYAH" without much knowing the full meaning except to know that it is the name of the supreme LORD SIVA.
Inside the temple and the surroundings areas I didn't open my mouth or talk to anybody except singing the prayers of the lord.
I was merging with Muruga for more than half an hour, I looked at the Jothi sharply and I found the holy five letters NAMAH SHIVAYA and inside the Jothi I found the holy face of Muruga.
