Talk:Anthropology of religion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Arthur Darby Nock is a professor of religion, not an anthropologist.
First and foremosts, anthropologists are scientists, as evidenced by their traditional antipathy to religion and creation science; the anthropology of religion is an attempt to study religious beliefs and practices using the scientific method rather than an attempt to legitimize pseudo-science.
Noticeably absent from the anthropological concept of religion are terms like "faith" and "morality." Rather, the anthropological study of religion is much more akin to the study of metaphysics.
