 The Causes of Alienation
Alienation is a very old idea which has religious origins and is almost as old as organised religion itself.
I now come to the ultimate and most tragic form of alienation, which is alienation of the capacity to communicate.
The tremendous advance in human thought which I referred to in this critique of Hegel consists in the fact that Marx rejects the idea of the alienation of labour as being an anthropological characteristic, that is, an inherent and ineradicable curse of mankind.

 Alienation
Thus rudimentary alienation was created, which from magic passed into a higher form, into polytheistic religion, and eventually to monotheism.
Alienation itself is a very old notion with religious origins.
As Marx wrote: The miracles of God become superfluous because of the miracles of industry.“ In metropolitan countries, technology and futurology have taken the place of God, theology and religion.

 Alienation: Marx and Heidegger
“[Alienation] does not, however, surrender Dasein to an entity which Dasein itself is not, but forces it into its inauthenticity—into a possible kind of Being of itself.
But because Dasein for the most part exists as ‘they-self’, it exists inauthentically and in alienation.
We see here the basic grounds on which Marx builds his perception of alienation.

 Heroux: "The Returns of Alienation"
The definition of alienation that I continually gesture toward is found dispersed through Marx's early Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844.
It is not important that a priest at the pulpit renounces the use of a concept that he would never have known how to use.
And last, the early-Marx texts on alienation do not posit an essentialist view of human nature.

Parental Alienation Syndrome: A Developmental Analysis of a Vulnerable Population by Joseph L. Price and Kerry S. Pioske
Gardner (1982) asserted that "children who describe one parent as having all assets and no liabilities and the other parent as being the incarnation of all of mankind's evils" may have been excessively programmed.
Adult developmental theory illuminates the dynamic issues that confront parents and lends understanding to the genesis of parental alienation syndrome.
Because of the preferred parent's excessive denigration, the children will use adult language in describing the other parent_as though according to a script as seen in the nurse's interaction with Billy.

Marx's theory of alienation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Marx's reaction to Hegel, these two idealist poles are replaced with materialist categories: spiritual ignorance becomes alienation, and the transcendent end of history becomes man's realisation of his species-being (i.e., our triumph over alienation; the establishment of an objectively better society).
Alienation can be seen as a foundational claim in Marxist theory.
Presupposing private property, my work is an alienation of life, for I work in order to live, in order to obtain for myself the means of life.

 'Alienation Revisited' by Paul Lodge
If parental alienation processes (not necessarily PAS) are prevalent in separating families, in which the residence of and contact with children is a matter of conflict, it is reasonable to ask why this should be at this time.
Counsellors are often challenged by alienating parents of this age group to accept the child's views uncritically because they have "a mind of their own" and a "right" to have their position heard and acted upon.
These might include the unquestioned belief that children never lie and a reliance on circumstantial behaviours to demonstrate abuse.

 Marx/Engels
The labor now exists in a form entirely external to the worker, separated forever from the human being whose very life it once was.
This is the root of what Marx called alienation, a destructive feature of industrial life.
Child labor would be ended, and universal provision for education would guarantee that future generations have greater control of their own destiny.

 Parental Alienation
If you are a father who is being alienated from his child, do not see all women as perpetrators.
And then, over time, the child may actually believe that it was his own decision not to see his father or that the father was responsible for the lack of visits.
That alienation often includes not just the other parent but often includes his or her family and friends as well.

Karl Marx, The Alienation of Labor
This alienated labor, this labor, in which human beings alienate themselves from themselves, is a labor of self-denial and self-torture.
Finally, the alienation of labor manifests itself to the laborer in that this labor does not belong to him, but to someone else; it does not belong to him; while he is doing it he does not belong to himself, but to another.
Therefore, through estranged, alienated labor the laborer gives birth to his relationship to his labor as something alien and external to him.

 PAS
Parental alienation syndrome (often abbreviated PAS) is one of the most painful aspects of divorce.
In most divorces, of course, children and parents alike shrug this off and move on, arriving at a stable or not-so-stable truce in which the children spend time with both parents and parents move on with their lives.
This page presents both sides so you can decide for yourself.

The term has also been used by non-Marxist writers and sociologists (in particular Emile Durkheim in his work Suicide 1897) to explain unrest in factories and to describe the sense of powerlessness felt by groups such as young people, black people, and women in Western industrial society.
On the one hand, it will be said, if concessions are made, the Parliament endanger the loss of their authority over the Colony: on the other hand, if external forces should be used, there seems to be danger of a total lasting alienation of affection.

In social science, alienation is associated with the problems caused by rapid social change, such as industrialization and urbanization (see Industrial Revolution), which has broken down traditional relationships among individuals and groups and the goods and services they produce.
Alienation is most often associated with minorities, the poor, the unemployed, and other groups who have limited power to bring about changes in society.
