Imaam Bukhari (R.A.) and his Famous Al-Jamius Sahih
Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Ebrahim ibn Mugira ibn Bardizba Al Ju’fi Al Bukhari.
It is obvious that because of Imam Bukhari and his family being close to Abu Haf’s family (Abu Hafs used to render financial help to Imam Bukhari) he was aware of the fiqh of the Ahnaaf.
According to Imam Bukhari for a hadith muanan to be under the category of unbroken chain of narrators, the narrator and from whom he is narrating must be contemporaries and must meet at least once.

Al-Bukhari's Authentic Hadiths; Book 4: Ablution (Wudu') - Muhammad Saed Abdul-Rahman - Adobe Reader eBooks
Bukhari's collection is accepted by the majority of the Muslim world to be one of the most authentic collections of sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Bukhari, who lived a couple of centuries after the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) death, worked extremely hard to collect this information.
This book, entitled 'Al-Bukhari's Authentic Hadiths; Book 4: Ablution (Wudu')', is a collection of sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), also known as the Sunnah.

Imam Al Bukhari (194 - 265)- Part II
They told him to call Imam Bukhari to his house and make him as busy as possible with teaching his son.
Imam Bukhari was not only a scholar, worshipper, a devotee and a prosperous man, but he always feared Allah and shone with the love of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
In 250 AH, Imam Bukhari went to Nishapur.

 ummah.com forum - Bukhari : flawless ?
I read somewhere that Bukhari himself said that even the best Muslims can become complete liars when it comes to hadith, and I read somewhere else that it is allowed to lie in islam as long as it promotes faith and doesn't harm anybody...
First it says that al Daraqutni doubted the authenticity of 79 hadiths in al Bukhari, 100 in Muslim and 32 in both based on isnad and matn criticism.
GReat respect to the great Bukhari, however Mohammad (pbuh) was the last prophet and hence the words of the Quran were checked by the prophet even if they were written by the greatest of muslim men.

It was here in Khartank, where he spent his final Ramadhan and on 1 Shawwal 256 AH / 870 CE whilst on a journey from Kartank to Samarqand, that the great Imam Bukhari departed from this world (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return).
Ismail, the father of Imam Bukhari, died during the Imam’s childhood leaving him along with a brother and sister in the care of his mother, where he was nourished with love and care.

 Life of Imam Bukhari
Bukhari said to Abu Ja`far Muhammad ibn Abu Hatim al-Warraq: "I learned the books of Ibn al-Mubarak and Waki` and knew their sayings by heart at age sixteen.
Furthermore, Al-Karabisi, Bukhari, and others of the imams to whom Allah has granted success have made it explicit that their pronunciation is created when they felt the necessity to make it explicit, if it is established that they actually took such an explicit position.
For us, Bukhari's words are to be understood as a permission to mention kalam if it is needed, since the use of kalam in case of necessity is a legal obligation (wajib), and to keep silence about kalam in case other than necessity is a sunna.

In Bukhari, it also proved that Abu Musa came to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) after the war of Khaybar was over.
The first narration in Bukhari is narrated by al-Qaama who heard it from 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).
Nusqi wrote the second version of Bukhari, and this narration was not written in it.

 'Al-Jami' Al-Sahih': A Review
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah assembled all these topics in his Al-Jami'us Sahih preserving the highest level of authenticity in the whole collection, precisely accepting only those narrations which were undisputedly narrated by and culminated at, without any gaps in the chain, to the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam himself.
It was greatly seen that a narrator was acceptable to Imam Bukhari rahimahullah and another to Imam Muslim rahimahullah exclusively, when Al-Hakim rahimahullah, ironically, rendered their narration from one another simply acceptable on the authority of the Shaykhain rahimahumallah.
His words are "Al Jami' Al Musnad Al Sahih Al Mukhtasar min Umoori Rasulillahi wa Sunanihi wa Ayyamihi", a liberal translation of which would mean ‘The concise, comprehensive, authentic and uninterruptedly chained collection of the accounts, traditions and expeditions of the Prophet of God’.

Did the mufassiroon take from Ja'far (ra)?
Bukhari took traditions from clear Nasibis, those that fought and killed the Prophet's family.
The mufassiroon took from Ja'far, the fuqahaa took from him, the Muhaddithoon took from him, everyone took from him except Shaykh Bukhari.
Bukhari admits that he has something in his heart against Ja'far.

SAHIH BUKHARI, BOOK 58: Merits of the Helpers in Madinah (Ansaar)
I narrated al I that to the Prophet who said, 'The garden is Islam, and the hand-hold is the Most Truth-worthy Hand-Hold.
I asked Ibn Amr bin Al-As, "Tell me of the worst thing which the pagans did to the Prophet." He said, "While the Prophet was praying in the Hijr of the Ka'ba; 'Uqba bin Abi Mu'ait came and put his garment around the Prophet's neck and throttled him violently.

 The Index of Islam
Bukhari vol.7 book 63 no.133 p.101 says that women are not to have wigs of artificial hair.
Bukhari ( 810-870 A.D.) made a collection of about 7,275 hadiths ( 3,000 to 4,000 independent sayings) (out of around 300,000 he knew of) that is almost universally recognized as "next only to the Qur’an in authority".
This pupil of Bukhari was called Tirmidhi because he was born near the village of Tirmidh on the Oxus River.

Islamic Information Centre - Understanding The Ahle al-Sunnah - 7
By the time Ibn al-Madini had returned, Imam al-Bukhari had returned the book. When classes resumed and Ibn al-Madini began to read from the book, he asked a question to his students. Before he finished the question, Imam al-Bukhari had already produced the correct answer [which was from his book].
After writing this account Hafiz Ibn Al al-'Asqalani said that he did not believe it and then he gave the reason. He said that this was against the status of Imam al-Bukhari
Al- Azhar decided that it was upon them selves to respond to this chapter written by Khatib Baghdadi.

Hadiths Inserted Posthumously In The Sahih Of Al-Bukhari?
For those who do not know what Kitab al- D u`afa al- S a gh ir is, it is a book written by al-Bukhari about the narrators and their weaknesses whether minor or major.
For example, for the majority of other narrators in Kitab al- D u`afa, al-Bukhari tells us why they were weak by using words like "he was rejected in h adith" or "his h adiths are not authentic".
Use Kitab al- D u`afa al- S a gh ir of al-Bukhari to verify the claim of the missionaries that the narrators were condemned as unreliable.

On The Nature Of The Hadith Collections Of Imam Al-Bukhari & Muslim
Bukhari, collected twenty thousand of them, of which he rejected ten thousand, accounting them untrue.
...Bukhari, considered to be the most reliable collector, admitted that of the 300,000 hadith he collected, he considered only 100,000 might be true.

 An Atheist's Guide to Mohammedanism
This is followed in Bukhari's account by the tradition which we have already examined, viz., that Zaid had the help of three Qurayshites, and that all variant versions in the provinces were destroyed.
al-‘As on 9 May 639 CE says nothing that would indicate that the 'Hagarians' or 'Ishmailites' (the earliest non-Muslim names for Muslims) had a sacred book of their own - even though the general had been shown the Torah, the Prophets, and the Gospels of the Jews and Christians.
The earliest account of the compilation of the Qur’an is that of Ibn Sa‘ad [844 CE], followed by Bukhari [870 CE] and Muslim [874 CE].
