Abu Hanifa an-Nu'man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An-Núman ibn Thabit (Arabic: النعمان بن ثابت‎) also know as Imam Abu Hanifa (Arabic: أبو حنيفة‎) (699 - 765) was an important Islamic scholar and jurist and is considered the founder of the Hanafi school of fiqh.
Abu Hanifa's interest in Islamic jurisprudence was sparked perhaps by chance.
When Abu Hanifa learned this, he was greatly distressed because he had no means of returning the money to the customers.

After Muhammad died, Abu Bakr was made caliph, or successor to the Prophet, by an assembly of the faithful.
Abu Bakr (573-634), was the first Muslim caliph (632-634), and father of Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad.
An early convert and loyal follower of Muhammad, Abu Bakr led the Muslim community from 632 to 634, but his caliphate was contested by Ali, the Prophet's son-in-law.

Sunni tradition has it that Muhammad gave Abu Bakr some of the central religious positions, like leading the hajj in 632, and leading the congregation in the public prayers in Madina.
We know little of Abu Bakr's early days, but he is supposed to have been of the same age as Muhammad, and he was either the first or second male to covert to Islam.
The principal challenge to Abu Bakr were Arab tribes that had given allegiance to Muhammad, but didn't continue it with him.

 IslamiCity Forum: Abu Bakr As-Siddiqu
Abu Bakr’s high rank is indicated, among other signs, by the fact that to deny his Companionship to the Prophet entails disbelief (kufr), unlike the denial of the Companionship of `Umar, `Uthman, and `Ali to the Prophet.
For Abu Bakr was the only companion of the Holy Prophet on his flight from persecution in Makkah to shelter in Madinah.
Imam al-Nawawi pointed out that Abu Bakr’s genealogical tree alone regroups four successive generations of Companions of the Prophet: his father Abu Quhafa, himself, his daughter Asma’, and her son `Abd Allah, in addition to Abu Bakr’s son `Abd al-Rahman and his grandson Abu `Atiq.

Restatement of History of Islam and Muslims
The claim that Abu Bakr led the prayers at the orders of the Prophet is open to question because he was a subaltern in Usama's army, and the Apostle had ordered him to leave Medina and to report to his Commanding Officer at Jorf which, apparently, he never did.
The story that Abu Bakr led Muslims in prayer in the lifetime of the Prophet, is either true or it is false.
It is entirely possible that Abu Bakr led the Muslims in prayer in the lifetime of the Apostle himself.

 Abu Bakr’s Caliphate (Islaam.Com)
As a matter of fact, we have some reports that suggest that the caliphate of Abu Bakr was by the dint of a command from the Prophet (saws).
We affirm that the caliphate after the Prophet was, first and foremost, deserving of Abu Bakr, believing in his superiority and seniority over the rest of the Ummah.
What seems likely, although Allah knows best, is that the Prophet (saws) did not issue a written edict to the effect that Abu Bakr would be the caliph after him.
